Fosky

Buenos Aires born and raised Fosky was always surrounded by a creative and musical background, covering Photography before finally setting his sights on house music, of which he blends with deep, poignant emotion and meandering rhythmic pace that perfectly sums up the nature of this production force. He’s recently teamed up with fellow South American Guti for a new split EP on Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels, following on from the mighty Shiva single released on Damian’s label and also on Guti’s stunning album Patio de Juegos earlier this year. The dawn of another quality and decadent talent on the world beating label, 2012 should see Fosky advance further into the all-round conscious of the deep house fraternity.

How and when were you first infected by electronic / dance music?
I have to say that s my big Sister - she has always been a big music collector. Back in the days when I was a young kid she used to sit me down and play me tapes with new stuff to get away from all the music that my father used to listen to.  That was the moment my obsession started. Later came the raving days...

When did you start making music / producing, and how long was
it before you started making tracks that you were really happy with?
I started experimenting with electronic music and machines long time ago, really wasn't anything serious just jamming around looking for other ways to express myself. Coming from an artist family you are always trying to do this. But then i stopped it for while and decided to get more focused on my studies, photography and travelling the world. Couple of years ago I decided to go back to my roots, I bought everything i needed to set up my studio and started from the scratch, Then I moved to Europe because I wanted a fresh start. I had a period when I wrote different types of music, looking for something new that could define me. But I guess last year was when I started feeling comfortable with my stuff,  I started to show them to other people, which led to collaborations. I'm really happy at the moment with my sound but always striving to make that timeless song.

What have been your personal favourite tracks / productions so far?
I would have to say that Step on Crosstown Rebels is my favourite track so far. This record has a big meaning for me.

Where does your name come from?
Some random girl gave it to me!

Who would you most like to work with?
There are so many talented people. But if I have to pick only one ill always go with Martin (Buttrich) he is such an amazing producer and cool guy.

What have you got in store for the coming months?
Lot of things are coming next year.  I’ve been working on some new releases, February and March I have some remixes set for release on different labels , also a new record with Guti plus a band with a vocalist.

What can we expect from one of your DJ sets or live sets?
I always enjoy to play music. I like to get lost between house and techno and some emotional tunes, I try to be new everytime, but every night is different and that's the magic of it.

If you weren’t a DJ/producer/artist, what would you be?
We have a good job, we are very lucky to be doing what we love, I guess if I had to choose it would be something that allows me to see the world. i couldn't live without travel.

Which other producers and DJs and artists do you really rate?
I’m always inspired by new sounds and people that take the risk of being innovative and creative. I think Damian (Lazarus) and Jaime are a good example of that. Also, guys like Lawrence, Christopher Rau or Premiesku are always doing amazing stuff.
