Norwegian electro-pop star Annie is still umming and ahing about how to put out her mass of new material, following her recent split from label Island Records.
"It's just difficult," Annie said this week, "when you first work with someone and you have a vision and an idea of what you want to do, and suddenly you're working with someone who doesn't care about anything at all." She says she has almost 60 completed songs to choose from, whereas the original second album project (Don’t Stop) for Island was limited to 12 tracks, produced by the likes of Xenomania and Paul Epworth.
"I might do it myself [now], on my own label," Annie explained to Billboard. "I own the masters, so I can do whatever I want to do."
"I actually have enough for two albums, so I don't know if I'm going to put out the one as it is, and one right after, or just some songs as [Don't Stop] and a couple that no one's heard. But I want to release a lot [this] year."
Whatever you do, get on with it girl!
