Dekoy - Dekoy Vs EP Part 2

Squishy, scrunchy jump and roll electrification from Jon ‘Dekoy’ Cooke on the power-punching part 2 feature Colonel K, boasting the same brand of firepower as Cadillac Crash. Wibbling and wobbling, blipping and bleeping in a bird’s nest of ear-shearing synths that rev, pull back, squeak and repeat, it’s good time breaking digging its heels in. Computer game gigs may come calling; don’t think that this will score the umpteenth future turbo racer either, this has an action and adventure aspect to it that would suit a much more entertaining platform. Hip displacement is also on the cards if you’re body ain’t primed for popping in the proper places.

Rob Focuz is again called upon for remix back-up, and the Colonel gets a slight but beneficial recalibration. The karate chopping beats and laser-plugged snazziness on the bass go more direct but are no less giddy, and it won’t be thrown off course by the synth twisters that bounce off the spring-loaded percussion. Definitely a fillip for those left dazed and confused by the original’s rotations, Focuz keeps his foot on the gas and plays a more deadpan sidekick to Dekoy’s hoopla.
