Ben Gold feat Senadee - Today

Ben Gold first worked with Senadee in 2007 on Say The Words, and the two have returned to the studio for Today on the Matt Hardwick A&Red label Kill The Lights. There’s a very fine line when doing vocal trance with a male vocal, and once again this particular combo gets it spot on.
 
The club mix starts off with some early synth pads and the slightest of vocal samples upping the ante until the punchy kick joins in. The main melodies then get an airing, with a rolling piano sequence that soon fades away before Senadee’s vocals come into play, which are delivered brilliantly and fit the swirling melodies perfectly. This is nice warm, feel good vocal trance at its best. The original mix is very similar to the club mix, although all verses get an outing - not just the chorus - and the dub mix is for those less vocally inclined, whilst showing off the brilliant melodies and lovely piano without Senadee’s towering vocal presence.
 
Thomas Datt takes things in a very different direction with his chilled remix. A deep atmospheric, synth lead gives a sunrise vibe with a very subtle breakbeat stuttering away in the background. The full vocal glides in soaring over the soft melodies, and at the main break the piano is replaced by an acoustic style guitar solo.
 
Overall a tight release, with the club and Datt chilled mixes the standouts.
