Above & Beyond vs. Kyau & Albert - Anphonic

Cunningly titled after combining the collaborators’ respective labels, Anphonic is the result of a creative merger between German duo Kyau and Albert and the Above & (definitely not 'and') Beyond troika. Considering the talent and track records at play here the result is somewhat understated, until the scorching Russian wunderkid Arty blazes in on remix duties.
The original mix plods along for a bit with rasping percs and dark proggy effects. A sliding electro style bass provides a welcome injection of groove bringing the track to life, with some subtle harmonies fluttering on the fringe. A shimmering sun kissed melody emerges at the break, powered by a rippling string that drags back in the bass.
Arty’s remix confirms his rep as one of the hottest new talents to break through in the last year, with lots of deep atmospheric elements, little vocal swirls and teasing hints of the original melody that give the track more momentum. He inserts a piano sequence at the break, which in tandem with the echoing vocals and smooth harmonies provides more depth and texture.
