Stimming - Kleine Nachtmusik

Man of the moment Stimming serves up another tasty two-tracks of deep chuggy goodness here.

Kleine Nachtmusik arrives with an infectious intro, all delicately positioned shards of metallic percussion and FX over deep Detroit style stabs. The seductive, plodding, deep ‘n’ dubby bassline slowly claws its way in, along with beautiful, glistening ripples of pianos and softly muted horns. It’s sumptuous, sexy, organic and classy as hell – another prime example of how Stimming and his cohorts and are incorporating less-than-usual instruments into house music with great effect (see the organs on Radar for another example). Lovely.

On the flip, Danke starts with a punctuated groove, all snippets of shakers and warm synth stabs fidgeting away while a plinky-plonky top-end synth zips away in the background. The groove slowly builds to something more flowing and rolling, with the stabs rasping away as graceful strings glide sorrowfully underneath, and the top-end synth echoing and growing in intensity until it reaches near frantic levels. Just as the whole thing threatens to explode with a heady, atmospheric breakdown, the reins are pulled and we’re thrown back into that deep intro groove. Ooh you little tease Stimming.
