Electrofied tech house here essentially, with a nice chunky, syncopated and punctuated chuggy groove that reaches all the right spots. Thuddy drums, funky percussion and a well-constructed sequence of electro squelches, stabs and blasts provides the counteracting force in the groove department. A massive build-up filled with soaring, euphoric Chris Lake-esque tones culminates in a 3-note stabby synth motif that comes out of nowhere – all slightly reminiscent of last year’s Tool by Patrick La Funk on Toolroom. Cool stuff,
Label owners Prok & Fitch’s version isn’t as juicy or exciting – with a nice wiggling groove but little else to sink your teeth into.
