Bart Claessen & Dave Schiemann - Madness

Claessen and Schiemann – a relatively new partnership whip up some crazy sounds with three remixes of Madness.
The Super 8 & TAB mix grips you with its haunting vocal cutting through a semi funky trance melody and bassline. Overlaying hollow, airy percussion, it’s not a typical Super 8 & Tab remix….until you hit the breakdown. Uplifting and switching key seamlessly. A dramatic, laser-fueled hands in the air build and drop follows. This will certainly get you going! There’s a nice two-minute build down for those DJs out there.

The I Prefer This Mix sounds like it was produced in the jungle! A pounding reverberated kick thumps through the undergrowth lined with rim shots, bongos and a subtle whaling vocal. There’s  quite a lot of clarity despite the noise. Can’t imagine this being as popular as either of the other two mixes available. Good beats, good drops, nice breakdown but a little too messy for my liking.

The I Prefer That Mix seems like a shorter less clunky version of the I Prefer This Mix. It’s one of those ‘stop dancing and look around’ tracks you can imagine being played at The Gallery mid set by Sander Van Doorn.

Overall not a bad release from Claessen and Schiemann. Would have liked to hear the original….
