Miami-bassd, Nicaraguan born DJ Craze is an absolute master turntablist. He’s the only DJ in history to have won the prestigious DMC World Championship 3 straight years in a row. But as we know, that doesn’t always translate to a DJ who can rock a party. Thankfully with this cat – it most certainly does.  
There’s a heavy, retro ‘80s lean to this 27-track mix, and none of the drum ‘n’ bass that Craze is often known to lay down. It’s a mix of Baltimore club bangers, Miami booty bass classics, straight up block-party hip-hop and the occasional dash of electro. Cool Kids serve up some lo-fi electronic griminess early on with a double header of no-frills bass music, before Tuff Crew get busy on some old skool breaks on ‘My Part Of Town’/ Lushus’ ‘Ho Fo Sho’ ups the sexxx factor as the electro vibes creep in, with Eli Escobar surpassing the original mix of Chromeo’s ‘Bonafied Lovin’’ on his feelgood re-rub that takes all the best bits of the original and cooks them into a summery hip-house-esque jam. The ‘80s feeling continues with a joyous bit of Earth, Wind & Fire, and he somehow even manages to make Armand van Helden’s Hed Kandified ‘I Want Your Soul’ work, blending it into Debbie Deb’s infectious ‘When I Hear Music’ DJ Laz’s rave-up ‘Red Alert’ deserves a mention too, introducing another vibe to the mix before it’s back to the Miami/B-more sound.
 
The mix loses some of its momentum in the final quarter, repeating itself rather than progressing - but all-in-all though it’s a pretty fine mix that was made for partying to. This one’s for the ass-shakers, not the chinstrokers.
