Pig & Dan are like an evil dictator on course for world domination. Quite nice chaps I’m sure, but there production of late has been dark – but accessible, great combination. Pig & Dan have actually been about for a long time producing quality house that is at times very good but hasn’t always hit the spot. Recently they have absolutely come into their own and Sly Detonator is the pinnacle of their work to date. Dark analogue sweeps and an underlying rumbling sub-bass collide with a melodic bassline and delicate arpeggios build up until a crescendo of strings over the break. This feels quite like techno in parts with its acid like distorted bassline. Future classic.
