Together with fellow Spaniard Alex Under, Damian Schwartz is one of the main minds behind Madrid’s dynamic NET28 label network. Itself only devoted to albums, some other labels on the NET28’s platform are Mupa (Schwarz’s own imprint), Apnea and Under’s established CMYKmusic. Together they form a collective of minds and ideas that pushes Spain further into the international map of techno.
As with the other members of this family, Damian Schwartz has delivered a distinctive example of organic techno following a path combining incisive rhythm with more deep solutions while giving a nod to early Chicago house. All these influences, together with his more personal roots exploration (jazz above all) are present in his debut album Party Lovers.
The production is clean and the whole album flows, for lovers of this kind of sound this is a release that you will definitely enjoy. It’s techno but it is full of melody and the jazz piano injection of Carolina’s Favourite and Were You There? are a blissful combination.
Schwartz is an artist constantly fine tuning the expression of his love for melodic and futuristic techno and this album is yet more proof.
