Arnaud Le Texier & Emannuel Teroir - The Almoravids EP

Nice little EP here from the Parisian duo, with lead track The Almoravids a very subdued, subtle groove with sassy shakers, dubbed-out jazz undertones and an undeniable sense of warmth.

Banzai mixes up bizarre Japanese spoken vocals with lilting tribal drums and winding b-line action. Useful little summer groove basically – nothing out of the ordinary, just solid music.

Kemp Road has a spicy, bouncy groove jacking it along, mixing classic US house feelings with a bit of European naughtiness – a filtered sax loop and a bouncing, subdued b-line recalling Derrick Carter in a deeper moment. Our pick of the bunch.

Fellow Parisian D’Julz rounds off the EP with a remix of the lead track, keeping it similarly dubby but spicing up the beats a little.
