Matt Hardwick - I Am DJ

Matt Hardwick’s second release on his new imprint Kill The Lights, is a chunky shimmering progressive trance track that hits all the right spots, with a couple of belting remixes courtesy of Ben Gold and Niklas Groswald.  
The original mix of I Am DJ builds slowly courtesy of a deep, proggy bassline, darker melodies that swirl around, as the shimmering Expander style, melody is faded in and out, before the percussion kicks back in. A clever little piano solo is introduced as the main melodies swirl around prior to a tougher, jagged bassline injecting some rougher energy. 
  
Ben Gold’s offers a rougher, more organic approach by adding a harder edge courtesy of tougher riffs, a harsher horn melody, as well as more electro style melodies which transforms the track. New kid on the block Niklas Grosswald saves the best til last, turning in an accomplished remix transforming it into a driving, melodic trancer that makes great use of the piano solo, which together with the dramatic, fizzing melodies makes this the perfect track to close a set with.
