First of two instalments of ace remixes of another ace song from the ace Crazy P. The Unabombers excel with their acid-heavy mix, letting the squiggling, elasticated 303 line take centre stage alongside the gorgeous, classically-styled vocals. It’s a rampant fusion of tech house and disco flavours that will work magic on the dancefloor.
Elsewhere it’s various shades of disco – probably a bit too similar for a selection of remixes, but all very nice. Ron Basejam focuses on an electro-disco feel with the guitar licks and cowbells hits and a Wildstyle-esque beat leading us towards a rude bass and synth combo that’s rather Kraak & Smaak, Hot Toddy’s mix is soulful, funky, and very retro, Tom Taylor’s is a euphorically-tinged Prins Thomas-esque version, and Saalim rounds off with the most chilled, plaintive version.
