Threadbare

Out now

Four names from four different corners of the musical spectrum, all together on this latest release from Process Recordings. "Threadbare" is the stand-out track on Corrugated Tunnel's third album "Minor Obsessions", on which the erstwhile lead singer of the band Sack, Martin McCann, provides a sinister and haunting vocal that fully complement Edwin's luscious electronica.

The first remix comes from Orlando Voorn, who has long been recognized as one of The Netherlands' most original and inventive producers in the world of electronic dance music, whilst the other remix is a more dubby affair by Norman Nodge, one of the residents at Berlin's most important club: Berghain. Big cross-over appeal for this one, ranging from Ben Klock charting it as his #1 for October, through to The Guardian newspaper calling it "glorious" in last Saturday's issue.

Out digitally now, and a 12" vinyl with the two remixes following in the next few weeks.

In The Mood

Out now

Dance and jazz probably aren’t the most obvious musical genres to combine. Robbie Taylor did see and feel the connection anyway and is proud to present the refreshing result “In The Mood”, which will be released under his alias UC-64.When Robbie was asked to turn one of his favourite classics into a smashing new dance track, he chose to work with Millers’ “In The Mood”. The result is definitely worth listening: a combination between the classic jazz sound and innovative dance beats, that gives legend Glenn Miller a second life after all.

Make A Change

Out now

‘Make A Change’ is the long-anticipated new album from dubstep trailblazer Maddslinky, aka Zed Bias, featuring Skream, Omar, Mr Scruff, Jenna G and more stellar collaborators.

Lead single, “Special” - a killer combination of Maddslinky and soul legend Omar - gained Top Tune reviews in Mixmag and iDJ; “50 Shades Of Peng” featuring Skream is a master-meets-protégé hook-up, an incredible, dark yet cheeky dancefloor cut that has been played by the likes of Benji B, MistaJam and Annie Mac. With a host of A-list guests alongside the indisputable pedigree of the Manchester-based producer himself, this timely and eclectic album is an essential purchase. Not to mention a triumphant comeback - for the man who never really went away, but has been toiling underground while his sounds have helped shape music as we know it.

Tru Thoughts are also proud to reissue Maddslinky’s seminal 2003 album ‘Make Your Peace’.

Support from:
Benji B, Mary Anne Hobbs, Annie Mac, Gilles Peterson, Ras Kwame, Mistajam, Alex Nut, Seb Chew, Solid Steel Djs, Nme Radio, Vice, Xlr8r, Fact, Dj Mag, Data Transmission, Mixmag (top Tune), Idj (top Tune), Clash (8/10)
