Legendary hip-hop DJ Grandmaster Flash drops his autobiography this week,chronicling his own rise, fall and redemption in hip-hop.

The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash: My Life, My Beats takes readers back to the South Bronx in the seventies when hip-hop was a burgeoning art form. Flash is credited as a pioneer of hip-hop DJing, cutting and sound mixing.

Last year Flash and his groupThe Furious Five were the first hip-hop act inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
