Spectrum is the third single from UK trance legend Solarstone’s recent RainStarsEternal album, and as you’d expect from such an experienced studio hand, this is a beautifully produced track. Rich Mowatt, the sole survivor from the original Solarstone trio, extends the album version of Spectrum to a 10 minute plus Parts 1 + 2 club version, which layers classic warm Balearic trance melodies, very much in the Seven Cities vein, over a warped, edgy prog-style bassline. The breakdown brings shrill twisted electro synths into play, like a sudden storm before the warm melodies return.
 
On remix duties are the much in-demand Duderstadt duo, brothers Dirk and Marco, who up the tempo while toughening the bassline, and adding an electro edge to maximum effect, while there’s also a radio edit of their remix for those in a rush... South American Santiago Nino adds his unique stamp with a more percussion oriented remix, which complements the deep melodies a treat.
