A gorgeous bit of hazy, languidly-vocaled, loungey deep house here gets a slew of mixes – and if you want something with a little more oomph than the very pleasant, sunlounger-and-cocktail-with-umbrella soothingness of the original, we recommend Scope and Jon Silva’s versions.
Scope serves up one of his Noche Urbana re-rubs – generally bywords for Latin-tinged dreaminess. And indeed, we get subtle gallops of Latin percussion, flourishes of bright, filtering pads, twinkling synth scales and punctuated, funky bass. A big, fluffy breakdown combined with the atmospheric sound makes it a remix that could work well in an epic, outdoor setting.
Meanwhile the ever dependable Jon Silva pares things down to a deeper level, but fluffier still – a cute, hollow, delayed synth plucking a gently warming melody atop the cool, prog-funk groove of the bassline. Muted, barely-there Detroit stabs form the final ingredient, dubbed-out and soothing. Something a bit Northern Exposure about this one – simple but absolutely gorgeous.
