Call Girl

Rating: 9/10

Hungarian duo Belocca & Soneeq serve up a very nice slice of big room house here, blending progressive atmospherics and tones with a springy, bouncing electro b-line hook and sharp, snazzy beats to great effect. Cool, subtle and tight, its power lies in its nifty groove and big builds, and those lovely proggy synth chords that take you back to the mid-‘90s. Good stuff. A dub takes away the vocal, which is useful as it won’t be to everyone’s taste and allows the strength of the track to shine through

Belocca’s Disco Vox  has sexier beats, with a stop-start tribal lilt to it thanks to a nifty conga, and a more stripped down content and subtler bassline which make it more suitable for deep house crew.

Alex Font steps down a deep, sexy tribal route with a looping b-line and sassy wooden percussion, with cool little horn blasts, subtle pokes of acid, and a crafty cut-up of the vocal. Excellent stuff that comes across like Johnny D and Josh Wink cracking on together.

A great little package here.
