Tribalism epitomised, Drums of Auluya is NYC fixture Benji C putting on Rhythmic Chant’s Cuban connoisseur Charo Velecio for some proper, die-straight dipping in the depths of the day. Encouraging sightseers to take pictures of the hollering indigenous before gradually letting them get into the spirit of things so they can take them to their heart, backing atmospherics seep through and scratch guitar and organ pangs get the funkiness on the boil and on the ball to take the pair out from the outback onto the terrace.

Candelario’s Strut mix applies a tangy lil’ sax scatter and slink that makes a marked difference between dancefloor fortitude and heads-up partying, particularly when Joeski’s Spiritual guidance across the club does incantation on the strength of unaccompanied percussion. Heightened by the native tongue holding court, it develops into a night-into-day niceness with one lingering synth shaping the cleansing of M B & S.DJ ALX’s ‘Bellyhouse Electro’ tribalism is eyeballed by trampolining synth squeaks flitting like fireflies and lighting up the darkness in the same way – a rare guard-downing moment where the nuisance of the synths is gratifying. Duce Martinez hits the next dark corner of the dancefloor, made to meet its match in a mischievous sprite smuggling in a P-funk keyboard and beaming like a megawatt torch, synth rays continuing in full effect as they smoothly spray left right and centre over his Bonus Beats supplement.
